Your privacy, in plain words

Keepi ("the app", "we", "us") is a local-first notes companion created byOrangeXLab. This page explains exactly what data the app handles, where it stays, and the third parties it is sent to when you use certain features.

1. Local-first by default

Everything you capture, your text notes, voice recordings, photos, screenshots, journal entries, categories and reminders, is storedon your device in a local database. By default it does not leave your phone, and the core app works fully offline.

2. When your content is sent to AI providers

Some features are powered by AI and cannot run on-device. When you use them, the relevant content you submit is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our AI provider for processing, and the result is returned to your device. This applies to:

  • Voice transcription — your audio recording is uploaded for transcription.
  • Note & screenshot analysis / auto-categorization — the text or image is sent for understanding and tagging.
  • Search embeddings — note text is sent to generate the vectors that power semantic search.
  • Chat & the voice assistant — your message, and the notes used as context, are sent to generate a reply.

Our AI provider is Google (the Gemini API, operated by Google LLC). Content is processed subject to Google's API terms and privacy policy. In some builds these requests are routed through our own secure backend proxy hosted onVercel (Vercel Inc.), which forwards them to Google; the proxy authenticates the request and does not retain your content.

Because AI features send content off your device, please avoid putting highly sensitive information (passwords, financial or medical records, government IDs) into notes you intend to transcribe, analyze, or chat about.

3. Optional cloud sync & accounts

Cloud sync is optional. If you choose to sign in, we useSupabase (Supabase, Inc.) for two things:

  • Authentication — your account is created with your email or Google sign-in via Supabase Auth.
  • Backup & sync — your notes (text and metadata such as titles, summaries, categories and timestamps) are stored on Supabase servers so they sync across your devices. Access is restricted to your own account with per-user row-level security, so other users cannot read your rows.

If you never sign in, no notes are uploaded to Supabase.

4. Notifications

If you enable reminders and push notifications, we useOneSignal (OneSignal, Inc.) to deliver them, which involves a device push token. You can turn notifications off at any time in your system or app settings.

5. Third parties we rely on

  • Google (Gemini API) — AI transcription, analysis, embeddings, chat.
  • Supabase — optional account, authentication, and cloud backup of notes.
  • Vercel — hosting for the optional AI backend proxy.
  • OneSignal — push notifications.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

6. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not show ads or use your notes for advertising.
  • We do not access your local notes, we have no way to read data that stays on your device.

7. Deleting your Keepi account & data

To request deletion of your Keepi account and all associated data:

  1. Open the Keepi app and sign in to the account you want deleted.
  2. Go to Account in Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account & all data, then confirm.

If you can no longer sign in, emailsupport@keepiai.comfrom the address on your account and we will delete it manually within 7 days.

What gets deleted: your account record, email, and all cloud-synced notes, todos, journal entries, reminders, and categories stored on Supabase are permanently erased and cannot be recovered.

What is kept: nothing is retained after account deletion, aside from anything required by law (e.g. financial records if a paid transaction occurred). Local data already stored on your device is separate: it is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app, whether or not you had an account.

8. Security

Local data stays in the app's private storage on your device. Data in transit to our providers uses encrypted HTTPS connections, and cloud rows are protected by per-user access policies. No system is perfectly secure, but we aim to minimize what leaves your device in the first place.

9. Children

Keepi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
